Ten years later, the eclectic artist whose discography ranges from being the mastermind behind Major Lazer to collaborations with Beyeoncé, No Doubt, Justin Bieber, Usher & Snoop Lion, Diplo is reissuing his 2004 album Florida through Big Dada, the same label that did it 10 years ago.
Diplo called the album a representation of “my first 23 years of my life”. Here’s what he said in a statement about the record (via Rolling Stone):
I made Florida between a small apartment in Philadelphia and my mother’s house in Florida. I was working late nights and taking a bus through the city every night, smoking weed, putting on headphones and just making things I never heard before and could just imagine. Making this record created an entirely new world for me.
The album will be reissued with 5 unreleased tracks, one of them being “As I Lay Dying”, which you can listen to below. His 2003 Epistemology Suite EP (released under the name Diplodocus) will also be included with the LP. The full reissue comes out Black Friday (29th Novemeber) on the record’s original label, Big Dada.
