A$AP Rocky has been quiet for the last year, only appearing on a select few tracks as a feature. As the fall season hits, Lord Flacko is ready to take over the fourth quarter, all leading up to the release of his anticipated sophomore album in early 2015.

Video directed by Shomi Patwary, the A$AP Mob roams through the NYC street, including appearances by Juicy J and Yung Gleesh. The 26-year-old rapper fires a few verbal shots at the BEEN TRILL clothing line-DJ collective and Hood By Air clothing line, signaling the death of the ‘fuccboi season’. This will hopefully put a stop to the bubble of black and white decal fashion and streetwear that was originally brought on by A$AP Rocky and then heavily commercialized on the streetwear scene. In his own words:

HBA sh*t is weak, you can keep that

I guess HBA didn’t cut Rocky that cheque, it’s pretty clear that their rise to mainstream was all due to A$AP Mob endorsements.

Directed by Peter Marsden and animated by Daniel Swan, we have the visuals for Rustie and Danny Brown’s collaborative “Attak”. Featuring an energetic Danny Brown performing the track over an almost minimalistic trap beat, coupled with animated on screen lyrics, this effort will for sure take precedence in clubs and on the big festival stage this fall.

A press release for the album states that it “was written and recorded at 4am to the sound of birdsong in a remote location in his native Scotland, influenced by nature, birds and sunrise”. Speaking about the album title, Rustie – real name Russell Whyte – has commented: “It’s a language that’s non-dualistic, that speaks to you directly to your emotions without the mind interfering with the message, and music is like that for me.”

Expect to see this record on Rustie’s forthcoming second Warp Records release entitled “Green Language”, available on August 25th.

Trap music heavyweight RL Grime has released the first single ‘Core’, off his upcoming album later this year on WeDidIt Records. The track features blaring air-horn style synths slapping in after a rap-sampled vocal drop, coupled with a sci-fi insipired music video directed by David Rudnick & Daniel Swan, which makes for a signature RL Grime track ready for the festival and club venue.

Coming straight out of Canada, the recording duo Majid Jordan formerly known as GOOD People (Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman) is taking the airwaves by storm. Since signing  to Drake’s OVO Sound–Majid Jordan has also landed a feature on Drake’s hit single “Hold on We’re Going Home,” which is featured on the 2013 acclaimed record, Nothing was the Same. It is astounding how the duo was only formed in 2011, and they are already making huge heights in the scene. “A Place Like This” is not only a single, but their EP title which will be released July 22. The music video is steamy hot with a killer story line and the song puts you in the mood as well. The video depicts multiple bedroom scenes along with club life shots.

With incredible contrast to prior visuals, Swedish rapper Yung Lean releases his video for Yoshi City – the first single off upcoming release Unknown Misery. The high-quality video consists of Lean in a dim-lit cave and with his crew taking advantage of a more urban backdrop. There are evident parallels between this video and those of notable east coast rappers such as the A$AP Mob. A-Trak and Cam’ron are back! Summer anthem “Dipsh*ts” features uncut Cam’ron slick talk over triumphant instrumental blasts from A-Trak, Oliver and Just Blaze, a Dipset-repping Juelz Santana on the hook, and “Champagne Dame” (aka Federal Reserve executive producer Damon Dash) providing a legendary, song closing rant, complete with “Foooooooool’s Gold” shout!

This Federal Reserve cut gets the epic video it deserves thanks to director Ricky Saiz, who follows up his work for Beyonce and Supreme with another iconic clip, capturing the rugged glory and inimitable fashion sense of Harlem and the Diplomats with true uptown-meets-downtown flair. From kids in airbrushed A-Trak tees to Cam’s floor-length mink, it’s the most style you’ll see in a video all year.
